Here are three troubleshooting steps that you can try to get the Cisco IP phone to register:
Option 1
- Power cycle the device by unplugging the physical ethernet cable, and power adapter if applicable, and plugging it back in.
Option 2
- Perform a soft reset using the Cisco IP phone on screen display:
1. Press the Applications button
2. Select Administrator Settings
3. Enter password (xxxx) using T-9 dialing
4. Then select Reset Settings
5. Then select All Settings
6. It will then prompt you to Reset Device Select Reset
NOTE: All settings Resets user and network configuration settings to their factory-default values, and restarts the phone
Option 3
Perform a full factory reset using the Cisco IP phone buttons:
- Remove power from the phone in one of these ways: Unplug the power adapter. Unplug the LAN cable
- Press and hold the pound (#) key and plug the phone in
- When the mute button is red and the top left and right line buttons are amber, enter the following key sequence: 123456789*0# The phone resets.

Performing a Factory Reset
When you perform a factory reset of the Cisco Unified IP Phone, the following information is erased or reset to its default value:

User configuration settings—Reset to default values
•
Network configuration settings—Reset to default values
•
Locale information—Reset to default values
•
Phone application—Erased (phone recovers by using the image in the inactive partition of flash to boot up).
