0. Where to Start:
- The majority of all changes in Kurmi can and should be made from the Kurmi User page. There are a few ways to get there, the easiest is to use the Manage a User button on the homepage or the Search bar on the left. You can search for a user by their Phone Number/Extension, Name, or MAC.
- Once you find the user, click on the line that is just their name and this will take you to the Kurmi User page. (In the example below, replace "Test User" with your user's 11-digit Phone Number, Name, or the MAC of their phone)
- Note: When searching for a phone number, it must be just the number, no spaces/dashes/etc. (e.g. 12345678901)
- Alternatively, from the Homepage, you can click on the 'Manage a user' button.

-
- Then searching for a user by name or phone number
- 1XXXXXXXXXX is a placeholder for your users name or number
- Or you can select them from the drop-down list
- Then searching for a user by name or phone number
1. Managing filters:
-
- Press the Carrot to make the filters visible
- Filters can be added as desired by selecting them from the 'Add a filter':
- If you do not see the entry that you are searching for, you may need to remove unrelated filters, this can be done by clicking the 'X' next to unneeded filters:
- Press the Carrot to make the filters visible
2. Updating PINs and Passwords:
- From the Kurmi User page, select the modify button to the top left
- Next uncheck the credential you need to change, enter in a new one, and press apply. You will get a green pop-up at the top of the screen if it successfully changes.
- The pin and password in Kurmi works slightly differently than previous tools. As long as they are synchronized, the following applies:
- Changing the PIN updates both the VM PIN, as well as the Phone PIN(extension mobility)
- Changing the Password updates both the User password (Self-Care, Jabber, etc) as well as the VM PCA Password.
3. Setting PIN/Password for 'User Must Change'
- From the Kurmi User page, scroll down to Package of the User > Cisco - Telephony, then click the modify button
to the right. At the bottom of the 'Modify Service: Cisco - Telphony' page, you will see the checkboxes for the PIN and Password 'User must change':
-

4. Common Errors
- "Impossible action: Duplicate credential found in history." - This error advises that the password that was used has been previously used within the last 24 passwords and cannot be re-used. Please use another password.
- "Impossible action module: Could not invoke service.. Nested exception is org.codehaus.xfire.fault.XFireFault: com.cisco.unity.cuals.CuDbException." - This error can mean a couple different things. Most commonly it means that you need to update one or both of the PIN and Password on the Kurmi User page. It can also mean that your pin/password doesn't meet the requirements or that you are trying to change it in the wrong place.
- Reseting the password from the Kurmi User page doesn't update the PCA password (Jabber Voicemail) - This means the PCA password is not synchronized. To fix this, the PCA password should be manually changed to the same password you reset the Kurmi User to in order for it to resynchronize.
5. Enabling .wav E-mail Notifications
- From the Kurmi User page, scroll down to Pack of the User > Cisco Unity - Voicemail, then click the pencil to the edit. You will see the option for Voicemail: Accept the message. Change this to Accept and relay the message. Put the email in the Relay Address if not already filled in and click Apply.

7. Changing a Name

- This is also where you should fill in the Email address and can change the Pin/Password (see 2. Updating Pins and Passwords for more information).
